So what's the score?

Combining the information from a Nova Score, Nutri-Score, and EcoScore provides you with a more comprehensive understanding of your food choices. For example, while Weetabix has a Nova Score of 3, indicating it is processed, its Nutri-Score of ‘A’ highlights its high nutritional value, and its EcoScore assesses its environmental impact. This triple perspective allows you to make more informed decisions, balancing the benefits and drawbacks of processed foods while also considering sustainability.

Our app empowers you to make informed dietary choices by integrating the Nova Score, Nutri-Score, and EcoScore. This holistic approach helps you understand not only the processing level of your food and its nutritional value but also its environmental footprint. By considering all three scores, you can choose foods that contribute positively to your health and the planet, ensuring a balanced, nutritious, and sustainable diet.

Nutri-Score

The Nutri-Score is based on the amount of beneficial nutrients (such as fibre, protein, fruits, and vegetables) and less beneficial components (such as calories, sugars, saturated fats, and sodium). The score then categorises the product from A (best) to E (worst), with colours from green to red. Helping you to make healthier food choices before you buy.

Nova-Score

NOVA helps people group foods according to the extent and purpose of the processing they undergo.
Group 1: Unprocessed or minimally processed foods.
Group 2: Processed culinary ingredients.
Group 3: Processed foods.
Group 4: Ultra-processed foods. (UPFs)

Eco-Score

Eco-Score classes food products from A (low) to E (high) according to their impact on the environment. Eco-Score aims to inform consumers on the environmental impact of the food they choose so as to guide them towards more responsible consumption.
